Our Story
Action Fire & Life Safety was founded in January 2025 by Lou Gonzales and Todd Newsom.
Lou has been in the fire sprinkler business since 1997, starting in the field before moving into the office as a designer, estimator, and service manager. He earned his NICET IV certification by 2008 and went on to open a regional office in Spokane for A&D Fire in 2017, growing the operation from zero to $6 million in revenue in roughly five years.
When the company was acquired and the new ownership’s direction no longer aligned with how Lou believes in running a business, he and Todd reconnected with a shared vision: build a fire protection company the right way — with integrity, craftsmanship, and fair pricing.
That’s Action Fire.
Lou Gonzales
30 years in the fire sprinkler trade. Started in the field in 1997, earned his way through NICET I, II, III, and IV — certified at the highest level since 2008. Lou has designed, estimated, and managed fire protection projects across the Pacific Northwest for his entire career.
He opened a Spokane office from scratch and grew it to $6 million in five years. Lou handles all design, estimating, project management, and client relationships at Action Fire.
Todd Newsom
Todd is a disabled service veteran and Lou’s longtime colleague from their years together at Patriot Fire Protection. He brings field knowledge, operational discipline, and a commitment to getting the job done right.
Todd’s military background and veteran status also position Action Fire for set-aside contracting opportunities in the government space as the company continues to grow.
